But while in the industrial age, leaders made products, now in the digital age, their task is to unlock human potential. Leaders can now become makers in four related yet distinct ways. The first of them are the sense-makers, who have the ability to understand situations, and create a springboard for action. The next is meaning-maker. Such leaders excel at talent management as they can give meaning to the work their team-mates perform. Place-makers focus on the physical spaces which must be attuned to get the best creativity at work. Space-makers are leaders who let their teammates hog the limelight, while themselves stepping outside.
