Apple’s employees can testify to having received emails from 4:30 am onwards form the company CEO Tim Cook. The owner of the Dallas Mavericks meanwhile shunned any vacation for seven years, while he was busy setting up his first business. Mary Barra may now be number one at GM, but it took her 33 years of work at the company to scale those heights. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is known for his long shifts, sans holidays during the early days of Amazon. Now he directly speaks to affected customers, in order to gauge authentic business intelligence. The CEO of Renault and Nissan Carlos Ghosn covers an immense lot of miles each year to get the global business on track. Other leaders such as Michael Jordan, Sheryl Sandberg, Li Ka-Shing, Sir Martin Sorrell, Marissa Mayer, Jeffrey Immelt, Kobe Bryant, Indra Nooyi, Vince McMahon and Elon Musk have all been part of such incredible stories of work ethic.
