Due to the problems associated with over tourism, the city authorities in Amsterdam, have come up with unique solutions. One of the aims is to divert the tourist traffic to lesser- known, but equally appealing attractions, away from the most crowded of areas. A guide has been prepared to this extent titled “Untourist Guide to Amsterdam”. The concept of fake marriages are being promoted by this initiative. This business innovation allows one to have a bride for a single day. The couple will then explore the city in their own way. Each month, a new such fake marriage can be courted. The entire money from these activities goes to a certain charity.
