MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Greenland plans to focus more on its tourism. For this purpose, its two airports are set for expansion by the year 2023. The frequency of direct flights from the USA and Europe can thus be increased. However, there are environmental fears to such business innovations. Climate change has already compromised a significant part of the ice, which is now thawing quicker than at any point before. The native inhabitants have also faced increased challenges to their livelihoods, with hunting area being threatened due to rising temperatures. Tourism would also contribute to increased carbon dioxide emissions, thereby causing havoc to the world’s second largest ice sheet.
