MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Tourism has been one of the worst affected sectors in the corona virus pandemic, so efforts are now on to reopen the same. Russia has been one country quick to jump in towards the tourism recovery path. For its part, the country has planned a simplified e- visa which will be applicable for nationals visiting from a select group of fifty- three countries. Russia had in fact introduced something along these lines even before the lockdowns in March, but for obvious reasons this did not receive the kind of traction initially hoped for. Rosotourism, which is the Russian Federal Tourist Agency, has been a little cautious on this business innovation, due to its earlier experience during the 2018 Football World Cup. It is believed that a few thousand illegal migrants did find entry in to Russia back then, taking advantage of the visa relaxations for the tournament.
