MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

CEOs are often tasked with transforming organizations, a process all the more necessary in today’s tech driven environment. Such leaders need to embrace business innovations to drive home transformations, but face the conundrum of how much exactly to change. A perfect example can be illustrated through the case of FDM Turkey, a bank which hired a CEO from a non-banking background. The new head led the initiative towards cashless online bank transactions, banking kiosks and enabling agility through text based methods. He even facilitated fresh talent recruitment after long-term employees were shown the door. While the policies were bold, he made some important enemies within the camp which can someday come to bite back. Thus a more cautious approach to internal disruption may be the approach to take up.
