Seminar on “New Horizons in the Telecom Sector” :

Speaker: Mr. Kaustabh Saha, Additional General Manager (AGM)- Sterlite Technologies

Mr. Saha started his presentation by speaking briefly about the status of the organization he is working in- Sterlite- in the broader context of telecom & energy sector. He said that Sterlite was placed at no.1 in power transmission, 4th largest power conductor producers & 6th largest optical fibre producers. He gave some more interesting statistics by explaining that the company has a 45% market share in the optical fibre & cables market in India. Students then asked what other industries they work in. He explained that Sterlite was one of the major companies within the conglomerate- Vedanta headed by Mr. Anil Aggarwal. He also spoke about opportunities in the energy/telecom sector for graduate management students.
