MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Morocco is a country trying to diversify its economy through the use of business tourism. Yet, as of now the footfalls are very less. Business tourism makes up only 4.4% of the total tourism revenues in the country as per business intelligence gathered from the foreign exchange office of Morocco. There is a severe lack of infrastructure to this end, with only the convention centre in Marrakech that can hold a mere three-thousand visitors. All this is ultimately tied up to the fact that Morocco isn’t yet an industrial power, though it is poised to be one, especially in the automotive sector. French carmakers Peugeot and Renault have set up manufacturing facilities. To ensure them thriving, the government will need to develop better roadways and logistics network. This will also bring benefits to business tourism.
