Second Semester Financial Management Course PGDM course

Course Objective: The objective of including this unit in the PGDM programme is to equip the students with tools that allow them to make optimum decisions pertaining to raising funds, making investments & managing the assets of a corporation, big or small, with an ultimate goal of creating value. Finance is the common thread that runs past all the functional areas of a corporation and is a essential part of the PGDM course. No functional head can implement his/her operational or growth strategies without taking the Finance Manager into confidence.

 

 

Marketing Management for the PGDM Course

Course Objective: Competition is changing the way the organizations interact with the customers. With changing environment it is clear that organizations need to look at their Marketing profess carefully. The purpose of this course in the PGDM program is to familiarize the students with the basics of marketing. The student is able to appreciate that ‘Marketing’ is not a function but depicts ‘culture’ of the organization. At the end of this course, the PGDM students should be able understanding the concepts and Principles of Marketing, why it is necessary to build long term relationship and understand customer value, How marketing values and concepts have changed over a period of time and What are the challenges for marketers as they enter the new millennium.

 

PRODUCTION & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT for the PGDM Course

Course Objective: The objective of the course is to acquaint the PGDM students with the basic concept and role of production management in an organization. Introduction to the basic functions of production management. Operations management course emphasizes on production of goods and services for the customers and achieving a competitive advantage. The operations managers are involved with the direct responsibility of getting the jobs done effectively and efficiently. This course aids in understanding the role of operations on achieving various competitive capabilities. This course also teaches PGDM students how to help an organization in improving productivity and meeting customer’s competitive capabilities.

 

The Study of operations management is an integral part of the PGDM program at SKYLINE Business School and includes understanding operations, capacity planning, MRP, MRP-II, JIT, TQM, managing competitive capabilities, process technology, scheduling, product design and quality planning and control etc.

 

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT for the PGDM Course

Course Objective: To introduce the students the basic concepts of Financial Management, and make them appreciate important decisions made by finance managers post the post PGDM.

 

MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS for the PGDM Course

This unit will cover the concepts of data and information in the PGDM course. The attribute of information needed for business-decision making process. It focuses on the use of structured methodologies to develop information systems for business problems. The necessity of information systems at different levels of organisation and different formational areas

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT for the PGDM Course

Course Objective: This core program in the PGDM course is designed as a tier, career based curriculum that is matched to the needs of individuals in their company as they mature and progress in their project management responsibilities. Project management course in the core curriculum is complete in that it contains all the skill elements (management tools, techniques and people skills) an individual needs to function effectively at that experience, maturity and responsibility level in his or her company. At each tier courses have been modified in order to provide individuals more focused application of the management skills on particular typical functional assignments for that maturity, experience and responsibility level in his or her company.

 

SERVICE MARKETING for the PGDM Course

Course Objective: The purpose of this course is to build on the concepts of basic marketing with specific focus on services. Services sector is the fastest growing sector and a key driver of the new economy. The service marketing course of the PGDM program will help students to understand the difference between characteristics of goods and services, marketing mix of services needs to be expanded, management of additional variables like employees, demand, and implementing Services Marketing efforts.
