Tourism consulting provided by the Survey of International Air Travelers has confirmed that a record number of inbound foreign tourists visited the USA in the year 2015. The number has now crossed seventy seven million, half of whom are from within the region including Canada and Mexico. The numbers have steadily been on the rise since 2009. Maximum travelers to the US visited for the purpose of leisure followed by visiting relatives and then business purposes. New York was the most visited state in the USA followed by Florida and California. Rounding off the rest of the top ten included states such as Nevada, Hawaii, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts and Arizona. Meanwhile the most visited cities were New York City, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Chicago, Orlando, San Francisco, Washington DC and Boston. The overseas countries which proved to be top sources for inbound travel were- UK, Germany, China, India, Brazil, South Korea, Italy, Australia and France.
