MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Conventional wisdom would have us believe that success in life is measured by material gains, yet there are people who have broken through that mould and done well using radical means. A Native American tribe called Cherokee has this belief that whispers predict certain trends that loud noises cannot. In order to forecast the future it is essential to test the ground. Organizations have the comfort of marketing research to help out, but individuals need to practically test the waters. Opportunism is the process where extant opportunities are exploited, yet their very existence depends partly on fertile ground being created for such to flourish. The past needs to be forgotten in order to succeed in the present or plan the future. One needs to stay resilient as lots of challenges will try to break business innovations. One must stay true to one’s roots. And finally the concept of renewal has to be trusted where individual failures eventually lead to positives being fructified.
