MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Business leaders and presidential candidates must not only read business books but must instead take inspiration from ancient Greek classical works. Perfect examples being Plato’s Republic or Socrates’s works. Dan Hesse retired as the CEO of Sprint and as per business research conducted by LAPTOP magazine was voted “most influential person in mobile technology” ahead of even Steve Jobs once. He feels that the values embraced in the book Republic written over two millennia back are timeless. It talks about leadership being a privilege with a leader being more concerned about the people than oneself. A leader must have a holistic understanding of situations and possess diverse skills. Socrates preaches so long back that women have the same ability as men so can reach the heights of leadership positions if accorded the right opportunities.
