With the business world experiencing such tremendous change, it is time for leaders to emerge who are unconventional and think on-their-feet. The conventional growth path may no longer be the ideal venture to identify such leaders. This is a major challenge for the talent management team to promote non-expectants ahead of seasoned internal hires. Two ways have been identified to conduct this. First up are executive assessments. This includes two stages as well with the first being about the potential leader’s factual knowledge. Secondly, the person is assessed on qualitative terms by peers over in-depth interviews. The other method is executive development which is a part of management training. In such situations, the potential leader is observed interacting with peers and how much the others respond accordingly.
