In order to be creative it is essential to break away from the conventional mould. Organizations expect individuals to focus on their work by shutting out all external influences. Such an environment is not conducive to developing business innovations. In fact, experts have suggested a dash of coffee, or even a bit of alcohol, a stroll or dim lighting as ways to positively distract the mind, an essential component of inducing creativity. Organizations work in similar patterns. People with a working memory of how things are executed will be hindered in their creative impulses, whereas an outside expert comes with an open slate. Some of the outsider’s ideas may sound naïve and not implementable, yet it is those ideas that are necessary to give internal staff an alternate view.
