MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

On first glance, no two leaders seem to be as separated by time or the kind of work as Ben Franklin and Steve Jobs. The former was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, while the latter was Founder and CEO of Apple. However, on closer introspection, it appears the two have major similarities in their ability to inspire their team mates. Franklin was a pioneer in devising a governance system by which the smaller states had greater say than their size or population would have allowed them under conventional patterns. Jobs too was a pioneer in the way his business innovations one after another ticked off all boxes and went on to be market successes. Franklin was collaborative in his leadership style, Jobs more authoritarian yet managed to inspire his team mates by his sheer example
