One of our members of Corporate Connect Team-Ms. Marshneil Marshal attended 8th  India Health Summit (Universal Healthcare-Addressing the Unfinished Agenda ) on 1-2 Dec 2011 at Hotel The Lalit ,New Delhi .The session was conducted under the Chairmanship of Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman, CII National Committee on Healthcare & CMD, Medanta-The Medicity
Following were the main issues addressed in the summit:-
• Why are we unable to offer quality healthcare at the right place with the right technique and at a right price for everyone?
• What are the roadblocks?
• How can they be cleared?
• Are there any successful models elsewhere in the world?
• Can these models be applied in an Indian context?
• What could each stakeholder do to achieve the goals of “Universal healthcare”?
• Providing quality health services to people in small towns as well.
• How to cater the increasing needs of medical and para medical staff.
• Another issue was that, the good professional doctors are not ready to relocate in small cities.
• Rates of medicines show be low , so that a major lot of the population is able to pay for their treatment
• More medical and nursing colleges should be opened.
• Public private partnership in the health care sector should be encouraged more.

The speakers shared his viewpoints over the emerging issues on the subject. The scope for new products and methods in Healthcare sector was also discussed in the session.
