Skyline Business School organized a seminar at Gurgaon Campus. The Objective of the seminar was to give the students an overview of Indian Retail Sector. As all of us know that retail sector has great opportunities for students, Mr. Sheikh gave us overview of Indian Retail sector.
Mr. Sheikh gave students very useful information regarding Retail Sector. He spoke about Indian economy & its Growth rate & how retail sector is Important for Indian Economy. He introduced us with various segment of Retail sector like Food & grocery (59.5%), clothing & fashion (16.9%), Beauty & Wellness (3.4%), Electronics (6.4%) etc. Mr. Sheikh also discussed about Policy challenges in single & multi Brand Retail Trade. He also make us understood that how Indian Govt. policies Regarding FDI in single & multi brand would affect Indian Economy. Then Mr. Sheikh introduced us with key trends In Industry like Emerging of Multiple Franchise Model, Focus in pvt. Labels, Increasing Mkt. Reach, Rural Retailing, Collaborative model for International Product, vertical Integration etc. After that Speaker Spoke about Challenges for Retail sector like Availability of Retail space, Clarification on certain Policy feature, Red tape-getting vertical govt. approval, Political Risk, Skilled manpower, Infrastructure Challenge, Currency fluctuation etc. This is how Mr. Sheikh introduced us with Indian Retail Sector. Overall it was good interactive session for students.
