Industry Visit: on “Parle Agro Pvt. Ltd”

Location: New Delhi

The student of MBA, visited the Parle factory at Bahadurgarh, Haryana as a part of their Institute-Industry Interface during the 4TH March of 2013. The objective of this visit was to provide practical insight of the working environment as well as of the production process, packaging, operation and supply management. The students got exposure of training and development practices at parle.The bus left the college premises at 9 am.

After arrival at the site, the students were shown an animated short film on the evolution of Parle into its current state, they were given a detailed presentation about the creation, evolution and functioning of the brand Parle and different processes that are combined to manufacture a host of Parle products like biscuits, confectionaries and chips. They were also briefed about various other management issues such as cost management of the factory, quality control, export, and the company’s association with World Health Organization (WHO). It was insightful.

Witnessing the manufacturing process from one’s own eyes is an unforgettable experience. The students were then taken around the factory and each process was explained to them in easy to understand and clear manner. The students could see for themselves how efficiently, hygienically and smoothly Parle was carrying out its manufacturing operation. There was the mesmerizing smell of the biscuits being processed.After this, a question and answer session was held where all questions asked by the management were answered to their complete satisfaction. Biscuits and Parle products were presented to the students.

All in all, the industrial visit to Parle factory was a success as students could relate to the management concepts discussed in the classroom with the latest industrial practices used to enhance the skills of students.
