MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

As per business intelligence shared by the Belgian Statistical Office, tourism is doing very well in the country. Both the Walloon as well as the Flemish region have seen steady growth in room booking numbers at 5 and 7 percent respectively. But the highest growth has been clocked at Brussels, with double digit figures at 10 percent. Both business travelers as well as leisure tourists are common in Brussels. But it is the latter that is causing the main hike, as the former was already a substantial presence. Among inbound travelers, those from France and the USA make up the highest numbers, but it has also been boosted by tourists form India, Taiwan and Japan. The biggest advantage the city has as yet, is that is isn’t a mass popular destination like say Paris or Barcelona.
