MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

A lot of businesses follow the wrong cue of blindly copying best practices as mentioned in management books or journals. They do not take into account that in business each situation is different and if the problem is new, then no best practice can exist. On further business analysis, one realizes that even in the first instance as mentioned, it may not have been the best practice and better solutions may have existed. A lot of books explain such best practices using action words, flow charts and arrows but do not describe in detail. A much better practice thus will be for businesses to try to come up with the best solution within the situation taking into consideration the budget, resources and risks involved.
