MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

The tourism sector has long been amongst the most important ones in Brazil. The country has also hosted hallmark events in the recent past such as the Football World Cup and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. But it seems to no avail. The sector is struggling. Overall, the sector has grown over the past decade generating numerous travel jobs, but the struggle has been on for the past three now. There has been a revenues loss exceeded 150 billion Brazilian Reals. Further, the Economic Division of the CNC informs that the sector will only retreat by 4% this year. The recovery will only truly take place from 2020 onwards. Rio de Janeiro experienced the maximum decline followed by Rio Grande do Sul and Sao Paolo. The Olympic games held in Rio was a mere temporary relief rather than providing any long-term advantages.
