MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

For most of the last century or so of management education, talent management experts have advised objective distance. However, an increasing body of evidence suggests otherwise. Instead, an increasing bit of people analysis can only help. The right relationships need to be forged at each level. Only then will statistical interpretations be understood and appreciated. Instead of being an armchair leader, one ought to go to the field occasionally, and be one among the boys. Too much usage of technical language and terms will only befuddle those listening in. So, while business analytics needs to be sued, the purpose of the same has to be explained beforehand, to make it more effective. Some sort of control needs to be vested away at times. Oft ignored, human body language can have a major bearing on how leadership is viewed. One needs to start off with a humble gait.
