MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

In order to avoid getting trapped in to the net of poor leadership decisions, every leader needs to develop an early warning system of sorts. For this, one needs to be able to spot own unforced errors. These are those errors where no one else was involves, or influenced, but purely of one’s own doing. The leader will also need to explore one’s prone zone. It is best to be honest with oneself. So, the leader must acknowledge, cost of his/ her own mistakes. The unforced errors identified, now need to be diagnosed against the risks involved. One can’t be too safe either, as business innovations will then never hit the stride. These could be divided as per indicators. The indicators may be related to time, energy levels, resources available or the intensity of focus.
