The world is going through the deep COVID- 19 pandemic, with the tourism industry being no exception. The entire industry is going through hardships, but even within that broad framework, key players are trying to help out the broader cause. Hotels are being made available to the medical staff fighting this pandemic, while cruise ships are being used as hospital ships to reach those patients located in remote areas. A disaster fund has also been created by several booking sites. Switzerland has introduced a business innovation where rides may be taken up at the cost price itself. Car rental firm Hertz has been responsible for it. In Spain, a hotel has even been turned overnight in to a hostel. In Berlin, holiday apartments are now doubling up to be used as shelters for the homeless and migrant workers.
