The boycott by the GCC countries really hurt the tourism potential of Qatar.The inbound tourism numbers have now reduced to less than a million in 2018. The authorities though are putting on a brave fight, trying to remain unfazed. Qatar is trying out innovative means to come out on top in terms of the overall tourism experience. As per the marketing research initiative titled the Guest Experience Report, Price cuts at five- star properties have also been announced by the National Tourism Council of Qatar.Cultural heritage is another key draw with sites such as the Barzan Towers, Al Zubarah and the Al Koot. There are several museums and art galleries as well. Another major draw is the upcoming FIFA World Cup in 2022.
