A study conducted by consulting and audit firm Deloitte, more than half the executives surveyed, confessed to feeling that their existing approach to performance management has little resonance in driving employee engagement or improved productivity. A new system being proposed and now being followed by many companies, is ideal for companies that choose to focus on the talent management for its employees. It is much reliant on sound data warehousing, speed, agility and a focus on constant learning. This new system was designed after careful evaluation on three pieces of evidence. This includes an enumeration of the total hours, followed by a controlled study of the organization and then a review of the research, making use of the science of ratings. A radical redesign is often something that emerges out of this exercise. It also builds in some performance intelligence among the team leaders.
