Perceptions are often more importance to how others view a professional’s competence, rather than the person’s work alone. Thus, it is important, that a professional manages to show oneself as likewise competent. Luck and difficulty levels of course are also important drivers to this. But people disentangle these factors, and instead attribute all the success and confidence, on one’s expertise. Business research conducted has confirmed that professionals need to display confidence, rather than modesty as was previously believed. Self- praise sticks, at least to enough extent to gather audiences. All this happens because people tend to believe what they are told, and actions merely confirm the same.
