MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

The Autonomous Region of Tibet, part of China, has comeup with new tourism policies, effected to support a growing influx of winter tourism. Massive discounts of up to fifty percent for flights and three- star hotels are part of this initiative. In addition, there are also free visits to places such as the Potala Palace. These policies will come in to effect from this year itself, and will be in place till mid- March of 2020. Pilot projects around winter tourism were tested in Tibet in 2018, before actually getting implemented this time around. Revenues are expected to soar, with more tourist arrivals than the eleven million plus domestic and foreign travelers who arrived in the first half of this year, fueling the growth of further tourism jobs.
