MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

Ethiopia is rising as a tourism destination, but this growth could soon be punctured thanks to growing political uncertainty. Recently riots were experienced in the eastern part of the country along the Somali border. In spite of this, revenues have been rising, as have inbound tourist numbers. Last year, the number nearly reached the magic one million mark. Ethiopia is still far off Morocco as a favored tourist destination in Africa. But there is massive potential thanks to the business innovation which is trying to leverage attractions such as the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the Simien National Park and the lower part of Omo valley, all of which as listed among the UNESCO World Heritage List.
