Wedding tourism is proving to be the latest driver of growth in inbound travel numbers for Italy. Increasingly number of American travelers inspired by a famous TV series want to get married off in the town of Salento while Chinese tourists want to do likewise in Rome or Vincenza. The entire wedding tourism market has expanded in terms of scope with a revenue of three hundred and eighty-five million euros added to Italy’s coffers in 2017. The main source markets are proving to be in descending order, the UK, USA, Australia, Ireland and Germany. Tourism consulting firms are helping in this entire industry helping connect the travelers to wedding planners, hoteliers, florists, photographers and even cake decorators. The main regions where such weddings are being held are in descending order Tuscany, Lombardy, Campania, Veneto and Lazio. This impact has rubbed off on Italians too, with many wanting to get married off abroad. The Iberian Peninsula is particularly popular, followed by South Africa, Thailand or the city of Las Vegas in the USA.
