MANAGING in the

NEW WORLD

A tourism consulting assignment undertaken by You Gov has come up with some interesting observations. The idea was to uncover nationals of which country are the most welcome abroad. The Japanese come right on top. This is consistent across markets such as Spain, France, Great Britain and Finland. Scandinavian travelers scored well in other countries, part of their region. Surprisingly, German travelers don’t have that good a reputation, even in Spain where they flock to, in large numbers. Nationals from Germany and the UK are also most critical of their own behaviours, while those from Denmark, Spain and Italy have the most positive image of themselves. On the other side of the scale, Chinese travelers are most unpopular in South- East Asia.
