Sales training has time-and-again proven to be essential in boosting numbers across retail chains. That is why Experticity, a corporate training, firm was confident that their efforts in training sales staff was bearing fruit. But they had no way to prove the same, so they enlisted in the services of some experts who were then provided with enormous business intelligence to conduct their study. What was realized was that those who had gone for the training exercise at Experticity performed on average a whopping forty-six percent better than others. While all of this may not be solely due to the training efforts, as those who took the training were generally more proactive having volunteered for the same. But on further scrutiny it was realized that half the factor was their own motivation, while the rest was as a result of the training received. Twenty-three percent is also quite a substantial improvement in closing deals and selling products per hour. The trend is similar at call-centres. Zappos has leveraged its superior, trained staff to generally perform better than peers.
