Product managers are the people responsible for launching innovations for the market to lap up. Yet to truly make their mark, product managers need to hold a grip within the organization they work at. A product manager becomes a product leader when his/her actions are coordinated towards the overall corporate strategy of the firm. A product leader to be successful needs to be good with people and have a knack for lifelong learning. The vision which is articulated by the person must be grasped by others in the organization so they can see what the team is working towards. Soft skills such as writing, corporate communications, selling, negotiation skills and time management also play a vital role. The right tools must be used as amplifiers in the work process.
